🌍 Happy Earth Day, everyone! 🌿 Today is the perfect day to celebrate our planet and spend time in nature. ☀️ Let's make the most of this beautiful weather!
Looking for ways to get your kids involved in Earth Day? Here are some easy and fun activities for families to do tonight:
🌱 Plant a Tree: Find a spot in your yard or a nearby park to plant a tree together. It's a great way to contribute to our environment and teach kids about the importance of trees.
🚶♀️ Take a Nature Walk: Explore our school forest, a local trail or park. Observe the plants, insects, and birds you encounter. Encourage kids to appreciate the beauty of nature around them.
♻️ Clean Up: Grab some reusable bags and gloves, then head out to pick up litter in your neighborhood. Make it a game to see who can collect the most trash!
🎨 Create Nature Art: Collect leaves, flowers, and rocks during your outdoor adventure, then use them to create nature-inspired art when you get home. Think leaf rubbings, flower collages, or painted rocks.
Let's make today memorable by connecting with nature and appreciating its beauty! 🌳

🌟 Recap of the Fun PAC Night Last Week! 🎨
We had an absolute blast at our latest PAC (Parents and Children) night! A huge thank you to Brush Strokes for leading an engaging and creative craft session that both parents and children enjoyed together. 🖌️👩👧👦
Our PAC program is designed for families with children who are not yet in school, focusing on development across various domains including sensory, motor skills, social-emotional learning, communication, and creativity. It's a wonderful opportunity for caregivers to explore important topics related to parent-child relationships, early childhood development, family experiences, and community connections. 🌱
At PAC night, everyone got to enjoy snacks and participate in a seasonal craft, adding an extra layer of fun and connection to the evening. 🍪✂️
If you're interested in joining us for our next PAC night on May 1st, RSVP to Melinda Casper (casperm@ellsworth.k12.wi.us, 715-273-3911) or Olivia Carlson (carlsono@ellsworth.k12.wi.us, 715-273-3912). We'd love to have you and your little ones join in the excitement! 🌟

See you there! 🌎💚

Our second graders are diving deep into their lessons on government and community services, and we had a special visit that truly brought their learning to life! Local law enforcement officers paid us a visit to share insights into their important role in our community. 🚔
During the visit, the officers, including the amazing K9 deputy Ares, showed the kids what their job entails and even gave a thrilling K9 demonstration. The students were captivated and learned so much about how law enforcement serves and protects us every day.
In preparation for their visit, our thoughtful students collected stuffed animals to donate to the officers. These toys will be given to children the officers work with, bringing comfort and smiles to those in need. Additionally, the kids put together snack baskets filled with goodies for our local and surrounding police departments—a small gesture of appreciation for their hard work.
This experience was not only educational but also heartwarming as our young learners engaged in giving back to those who serve our community. 🌟 Well done, 2nd graders—learning and compassion in action! 🌟
