It sounds like the Respect Retreat organized by Youth Frontiers for EHS sophomores was a valuable experience. These types of events can have a positive impact on students by creating awareness about the importance of respect and encouraging a positive and inclusive school culture. The retreat included various activities and discussions aimed at promoting respect among students. Students engaged in team-building exercises, discussions on communication and empathy, and other activities designed to foster a sense of community and understanding. Events like the Respect Retreat contribute to creating a school environment where students feel safe, supported, and valued. The lessons and experiences gained during such retreats can have a lasting impact, influencing students' behavior and attitudes in their daily interactions. Thank you to Youth Frontiers and EHS Mentors for a great day!!!

Mrs Zierl’s kindergarten class has been in writing officer training learning how to patrol their sentences. After they write, they put on their hats and patrol for capital letters, spaces between words, and punctuation. After lots of hard work, they have graduated patrol training and are set to edit their writing.

8th-grade students visited Historic Fort Snelling today. They learned the stories of this important place with its military fort and surrounding area, home to a wide history that includes Native peoples, trade, soldiers, enslaved people, and immigrants. They explored the Plank Museum & Visitor Center inside a rehabilitated 1904 cavalry barracks and experienced expanded outdoor learning opportunities with stunning river overlooks.

The music department is excited to announce that we have 6 students leaving today for the WI State High School Honors Mixed Choir and Honors Band. This is the biggest accomplishment we have in the state for choir and band students. Students prepared for a rigorous audition in early February. Students are then selected out of about 1400 auditions throughout the state in late March. They attend a 4-day camp at U.W. Green Bay to begin to meet the nationally recognized conductors, learn music, and finally meet back up in Madison in late October to perform at the beautiful Overture Center. We are so very lucky to have 6 students chosen and performing this Thursday evening. WI State Mixed Choir: Lander Levers, Betsy Foster, Mya Petersen, Maleah Petersen, and Bailey Oleson WI State High School Band: Landen Lee We also have one student who auditioned and is performing with the WI State Middle-Level Honors Choir in Madison this Saturday. Henry Penn Please congratulate these students and wish them good luck!!

Our 4th graders had a blast at the After School Art Club, thanks to the amazing after-school grant that ECSD received! These young artists unleashed their creativity, crafting adorable scarecrows and snowmen. The room was filled with laughter, colorful paints, and endless imagination! It's heartwarming to see how initiatives like this grant can allow our students to explore their artistic talents outside the regular curriculum.
