💜🐾 Panther Pride Staff Shout Out 🐾💜
We’re excited to kick off our new Panther Pride Staff Shout Outs series by recognizing someone who truly makes a difference behind the scenes.

Today's shout out goes to Anne Pechacek, who was nominated by Alyssa and Beth.

Alyssa shared how much she appreciates Anne’s work across multiple initiatives and service-learning experiences. Anne brings a wide range of skills to everything she does and approaches her work with a collaborative mindset and genuine care. Alyssa also highlighted Anne’s role in helping implement the Ellsworth Community School District Hall of Fame, an amazing way to recognize individuals who have made a lasting impact on our schools and community. Anne’s work often happens quietly, but it truly deserves to be shared and celebrated.

Beth nominated Anne for the incredible attention to detail she brings to planning international student trips. Organizing travel like this is no small task, and Anne works hard to ensure every trip is educational, meaningful, and memorable. Thanks to her dedication, Ellsworth students have opportunities that many schools of similar size simply don’t offer experiences that truly are once (or twice) in a lifetime.

Anne’s commitment, teamwork, and care make a lasting impact on our district and our students. We are so thankful for everything she does.

Thank you, Anne, for all you do for Ellsworth! 💜🐾

🔥 We’re kicking off CTE Month with a big win!

Our Community Ed Class: Intro to Welding was a huge hit. Nearly 30 community members filled the new CTE Center at Ellsworth High School for a night of hands on learning and a whole lot of sparks flying.

We loved seeing grandparents welding with grandkids, parents welding with kids, and even husbands welding with wives. It was a great example of how learning can bring people of all ages together.

The new welding bays from the recent CTE remodel really came in handy and gave everyone plenty of space to work safely and comfortably. These updated spaces are already making a big difference for both students and the community.

With such a great turnout, we’re hoping to offer more open welding times in the near future. Thank you to everyone who came out and made the night such a success. It was a fun way to kick off CTE Month. 💜🐾

💜🩺 Thank you, ECSD Foundation! 🩺💜

We are so grateful to share that Nurse Jess applied for and received a grant from the Ellsworth School District Foundation to purchase new CPR manikins for our district. This week those new manikins were already put to use during a CPR class!

This generous support helps us continue certifying our staff, coaches, and students, giving them the skills and confidence to respond in an emergency.

A big shoutout as well to Madeline Poulos, our district CPR instructor. She is amazing and truly dedicated to making sure we are prepared to care for anyone who may enter our buildings and need medical attention.

Thank you again to the Ellsworth School District Foundation for supporting this important service for our schools and community. 🐾

🦅 What an amazing experience for our students!

We were excited to welcome Steve Kaufer back again this year to share his falconry expertise with Mrs. Klecker’s Biology classes. Steve and his daughter Bethany, now an 11th grader, brought in two incredible birds and a whole lot of knowledge and passion.

Steve talked with students about the history of falconry, how he first became interested, the unique skills and adaptations of different birds of prey, and how important these birds are to keeping ecosystems in balance. He also shared how falconry has become something special he gets to do with his family.

Students had the chance to meet Merida, a Red Tailed Hawk along with a Merlin, and learn how their different traits help them survive in the wild. Some students even got to hold the birds, which made the experience even more memorable. We also had students from Ms. Sara White’s Room join in on the fun.

A big thank you to Steve and Bethany for another fantastic visit. If you want to see more of their falconry adventures, you can follow Steve on Instagram at @sun_flower_steve.

He also shared how falconry has become something special he gets to do with his family. Students had the chance to meet Merida, a Red Tailed Hawk and Bethany’s bird, along with a Merlin, and learn how their different traits help them survive in the wild. Some students even got to hold the birds, which made the experience even more memorable. We also had students from Ms. Sara White’s Room 220 join in on the fun. A big thank you to Steve and Bethany for another fantastic visit. If you want to see more of their falconry adventures, you can follow Steve on Instagram at sun_flower_steve.
📚💙 We had a very special visitor at Ellsworth Elementary!

Former ECSD teacher Teri Kulow stopped by to share her brand-new children’s book, Our Friend Pepie, with all of our kindergarten students. The story follows Pepie, a friendly lake monster who helps kids take care of Lake Pepin by cleaning up litter and protecting the water we all love. What a perfect message for our young learners.

The beautiful illustrations were created by Shelly Nelson, former Ellsworth Elementary art teacher, making this project extra special and close to home. Teri read the book to all of the kindergarten classes.

Teri also generously donated a copy of the book to the Ellsworth Elementary Library, so students can enjoy Pepie’s story for years to come.

After teaching in our district for 31 years before retiring in 2019, it was wonderful to welcome Teri back and see her still sharing her love of learning and storytelling with our students. Thank you, Teri, for this meaningful visit and for a story that encourages kindness, community, and caring for our lake. 💜🐾

On January 15, our 4th and 5th graders took part in Ellsworth Elementary’s 3rd annual Career Day, and it was such a great day of learning and exploring.

Fourth graders rotated through seven different speakers, moving to a new classroom every 15 minutes so they could hear from everyone. Fifth graders chose three out of six speakers to visit and spent 30 minutes in each session digging a little deeper into careers that interested them. Before Career Day, our fifth graders also took a short Myers-Briggs personality test, then researched a job that matched their personality. They created career posters for our “neighborhood,” including salary, required education, and other details about each job.

Like always, our speakers were amazing. Hearing people talk about what they do with so much passion helps open our students’ eyes to careers they may have never known about. These kinds of experiences really help students start imagining what their own futures could look like.

A big thank you to all of our speakers who made this day possible:

WI State Patrol
WI DNR
Pierce County Sheriff’s Department
Loberg’s Law Office
Coach Staley
KNN Farms
Brush Strokes
Pierce County Highway Department
Tim Schmit, Pilot
Westconsin Credit Union
Principal Nygaard
Ellsworth Police Department

We are so grateful for our community partners who take the time to invest in our students and share their experiences. 💜🐾

🎶 A Cappella at EMS! 🎶
We recently had the UW–Eau Claire Audacious A Cappella visit our middle school choir students for a fun and inspiring session. They shared what makes a cappella so unique and gave our students a great look at vocal music beyond the classroom.

It was extra special to welcome back Ellsworth grad Maci Gutting, who joined the group for the visit. 💜🐾

Thanks for spending time with our students and sharing your love of music. Panther Pride!
