October is National Physical Therapy Month! Shoutout to Maria Martino, who does so many amazing things for our students district-wide! From helping our littlest learners build up to important developmental milestones 🧒👶, to ensuring that our older students with physical disabilities can navigate their school environment safely and independently 🚶‍♂️🏫, Maria makes a huge difference every day! Thank you, Maria, for your dedication to our students!

We still have a few openings for this awesome opportunity! It is open to ANY STUDENT within the ECSD. We are thrilled to announce that Ellsworth Middle School has partnered with the Minnesota Timberwolves for their “Get Fit” Program! This fantastic initiative encourages our youth to stay active and play every day outside of school. Here’s how it works: students earn points for every 15 minutes of movement. This can include a variety of everyday activities, such as playing at the playground, shoveling snow, or even walking your dog! If you accumulate 25 points or more, you will receive a complimentary ticket to a Timberwolves game this season! If you're interested in participating in the GET FIT program, please pick up an information sheet from the office. Forms are limited, so act fast! 🏅🏃‍♂️ Panthers Shine at Altoona Cross Country Meet! 🏃‍♀️🏅 Our High School and Middle School Cross Country teams had an amazing day at the Altoona meet this past Saturday! Both teams finished 2nd overall! 🎉 We’re also proud to recognize our 9 medallists: 🌟 4 MS Girls 🌟 3 MS Boys 🌟 2 HS Boys Incredible work, Panthers! Keep pushing toward greatness!

🏆 Powderpuff Game Results Are In! 🏆 What a game! The 2024 Powderpuff Showdown did not disappoint! 🔥 After an intense battle on the field, the Seniors came out on top with beating the Sophomores in a punt off to win the game! 🎉 Congrats to these 6 girls for showing incredible teamwork, determination, and spirit! 💪 A huge shout out to all the teams for putting up a great fight and keeping us all on the edge of our seats until the very end. You all played with heart, and that’s what it’s all about! 👏 Special thanks to the team coaches, Sam Hines and Nolan Kummer for your commentating, Madeline Poulos, Rob Heller and Josh Erlandson for your help with the event and fans who came out to support. 💯

🌮🍴 Tamale Time in Mrs. Johnson's International Foods Class! 🍴🌮 We had a special guest speaker, Johana Cango, who taught our students how to make authentic tamales! It was an incredible hands-on experience, and the students loved learning about the traditional techniques and flavors from Johana’s culture. 🌽✨ Thank you, Johana, for sharing your culinary expertise and making this lesson so memorable!

🎾 Panther Pride on the Courts! 🎾 The Girls' Tennis Team competed in the Middle Border Conference tournament last week and we had some incredible performances! 🏅 🎉 Congratulations to our 3rd place finishes: Katie Groen placed 3rd at 1 singles! Karissa Kollbaum & Delaney Johnson placed 3rd at 1 doubles! Alyssa Davis & Brooke Olson placed 3rd at 3 doubles! As a team, we secured a 4th place finish in the conference! Way to go, Panthers!
