Tracy and her husband, met in 6th grade and have been a blended family for 14 years. Together they have eight kids and eight grandkids!

📚💙 We had a very special visitor at Ellsworth Elementary!

Former ECSD teacher Teri Kulow stopped by to share her brand-new children’s book, Our Friend Pepie, with all of our kindergarten students. The story follows Pepie, a friendly lake monster who helps kids take care of Lake Pepin by cleaning up litter and protecting the water we all love. What a perfect message for our young learners.

The beautiful illustrations were created by Shelly Nelson, former Ellsworth Elementary art teacher, making this project extra special and close to home. Teri read the book to all of the kindergarten classes.

Teri also generously donated a copy of the book to the Ellsworth Elementary Library, so students can enjoy Pepie’s story for years to come.

After teaching in our district for 31 years before retiring in 2019, it was wonderful to welcome Teri back and see her still sharing her love of learning and storytelling with our students. Thank you, Teri, for this meaningful visit and for a story that encourages kindness, community, and caring for our lake. 💜🐾

Former ECSD teacher Teri Kulow stopped by to share her brand-new children’s book, Our Friend Pepie, with all of our kindergarten students. The story follows Pepie, a friendly lake monster who helps kids take care of Lake Pepin by cleaning up litter and protecting the water we all love. What a perfect message for our young learners. As part of the unit, second grade students also collected food and easy to eat snacks for officers from Pierce County, St. Croix County, and the Woodville Police Department. These snacks were chosen with busy schedules in mind and were a small way to say thank you for all they do.

Our students asked thoughtful questions, made great connections to their learning, and showed just how engaged and caring they are. What a great example of learning in action. 💜🐾

The officers made great connections between what students were learning in class and how it applies in real life here in our community. As part of the unit, second grade students also collected food and easy to eat snacks for officers from Pierce County, St. Croix County, and the Woodville Police Department. The Ellsworth Community School District will hold a child development screening (ages 3, 4 & 5 years old) day on February 4, 2026 at the Ellsworth Elementary School.

This is a wonderful opportunity for you to learn about your child’s development in speech/language, gross motor, fine motor and play skills. During the screening your child will participate in a playgroup where social, communication, motor and early learning skills will be observed. In addition, your child’s vision and hearing will be screened. Screening is required before 4K enrollment is approved.
