Mrs. Paul's little explorers have been hard at work, unleashing their creativity and diving into the world of geography by creating incredible physical landform maps! 🗺️🎉

We are soon entering our winter season of Parent-Teacher Conferences, a crucial opportunity for nurturing a strong partnership on behalf of your child's education.
Here are the conference dates and times:
ES: Thursday, February 22, and Thursday, February 29, 4:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
MS: Thursday, February 29, and Thursday, March 14, 4:00 p.m. - 7:30 p.m.
HS: Monday, February 26, 4:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m.
Parent-teacher conferences serve as a vital bridge between home and school. They allow you to meet with your child's teachers, discuss progress, strengths, and areas for support, collaborate on academic goals, and learn about the upcoming curriculum. Your presence is not just an update on academic performance but most importantly, a collaborative time for you to share your needs and ask questions.
Your child's education is a shared responsibility, and the Parent-Teacher Conference is a crucial step in building a strong foundation for that partnership. We look forward to welcoming you to discuss your child's progress, goals, dreams, and celebrations! Your attendance demonstrates a commitment to the power of partnerships - and Ellsworth Community Schools are committed to family and community involvement. Together, we can create opportunities for your child to flourish academically, socially, and emotionally.
Unfortunately, schedules do not always align. If our conference dates and times won't work for your family, please reach out to your child’s teacher so that this valuable connection can happen in another way (i.e., email, phone call, etc.).
Your active involvement is key to your child’s educational success, and we welcome your input.
Thank you for your continued support in making Ellsworth Community School District a place of excellence!
Sincerely,
Ellsworth Community School District

EES hosted Career Day for the 4th and 5th graders. 13 businesses or careers were represented. They came to talk with our students about what a day looks like within their career field. We wanted to show our students what our community has to offer. Each grade had 6 sessions they could choose from. Students chose 3 sessions and rotated to each of them after a 30-minute presentation. Students in 5th grade had a booklet which they had to answer questions and then had specific questions for their speakers. 5th grade took a personality test to see what careers could be fitting for them. Then they worked with a partner who had the same career interest to research and make a poster for their career.
A big shout out to Brandon Gray from the State Patrol, Kyle Kosin from Pierce County DNR, Steve Thoner from Kruger-Thoner Builders, Chris Boyle from Black Dog Vet, Welder Stacey Peterson, Sarah Lardahl from our EES Health Office, Brian Piper and Genna Peterson from Rockworks, Aiden Thorp from Emerald Valley Law, Jason Lacy with heating and HVAC, Farmer Konnie Roland, Chad Johnson from the Pierce County Highway Dept, Kayleen Jakes from Brushstrokes, and Village of Ellsworth officers Sergeant Eric Van Nocker and Police Officer Cedric Kosnopfal. These people took the time to explain what their careers looked like with hands-on materials that kept the students engaged and learning.

Mrs. Traynor's amazing high school students are spreading the love of reading to the little ones at EES for National Read Aloud Day! 📖✨
Let's inspire a passion for reading and create lasting memories together! 📚❤️
Kudos to Mrs. Traynor and her dedicated students for making a positive impact on our EES students.

EMS book fair is right around the corner!!!! Mark your calendars for February 12th-16th.

2nd grade and Kindergarten have been learning about bridges. We took a field trip to the Pierce County Highway Shop. This is our 3rd year of STEM and the HIghway Shop has worked together for both grades to get a more hands-on approach with bridges. Chad Johnson and his crew do a fantastic job keeping the students engaged with hands-on learning. They set up stations for our 2nd graders to see the different parts that go into making a bridge, from the safety part to pouring cement.
Our Kindergarteners talked about a part of the bridge and then showed a short video on what it looks like to build that part of the bridge. After the presentation, both grades could walk around and ask questions about the big equipment and trucks.
A big Thank You to Chad Johnson, Elliott Check, Travis Hartung, Brad Taplin, Mark Wolf, Adam Johnson, Shaun Hartung, Jake Halls. We can not wait to see what they come up with for next year!
