This year the Ellsworth High School prom will be held on April 27th, 2024. The theme is “Starry Night”, and the colors are navy, silver and white. Following is a list of information for anyone interested in attending this year’s prom as a student or spectator.
Prom goers (student) tickets will be sold from April 1st thru April 12th in the high
school office. No tickets will be sold after April 12th. The tickets will be
$100/couple (includes 6 spectator tickets) and $50/single (includes 3 spectator tickets). This also includes:
🌟Dinner at the Little Log Cabin, Pioneer Village, Hastings.
🌟D.J. Entertainment/Dance.
🌟Transportation to and from the dinner/ dance.


We're thrilled that 30 of our talented 8th-grade band & choir students were selected to participate in the SCVEMA District Honors Festival! 🎼🎤 This incredible opportunity has brought them together for lots of rehearsals, culminating in a spectacular concert last Saturday! 🎶🎉







8th-grade science students designed crash cushions to reduce the forces that act on a vehicle during a collision with a wall and used the sensors to view the impact acceleration values.

Not-On-Tobacco~ A Proven Teen Smoking and Vaping Cessation Program
THE GROUP WILL BE STARTING FEBRUARY 1ST FROM 1-2 ON EVERY THURSDAY.
This is a voluntary program that you can sign yourself up for if you are looking for help with your tobacco use. Unlike other cessation programs that simply modify adult curriculum, N-O-T was designed with teenagers in mind and addresses issues that are specifically important to you!
This is a 10-session program:
Session 1: Reasons for Quitting
Session 2: Why I Smoke/Vape
Session 3: Nicotine Addiction and Triggers
Session 4: Effects of Smoking/Vaping
Session 5: Physical, Psychological and Social Benefits of Quitting
Session 6: Quitting Nicotine Use
Session 7: Overcoming Obstacles to Quitting
Session 8: How to Deal with Stress
Session 9: Myths of Big Tobacco
Session 10: Staying Committed to Quitting
These confidential, small group meetings will be run by Kathy Asper from Arbor Place and Ms. "Hutch" Hutcheson. We will start the group on February 1st from 1-2 at the high school and will be held 1x/a week. We want to be clear that we are offering these groups to support you~ not to judge, shame, or discipline you!

On January 29, 2024 from 5:30 - 7:30 River Falls HS will be hosting a college and career fair. The event is free. This is a great opportunity for you and your parents to explore post-secondary opportunities. An email will be sent to all parents also making them aware of this opportunity. We are letting you know that we will also be taking a bus if transportation is an issue at not cost. We need to know on/before 3:30 on Friday, January 25 if you intend on taking the bus and how many people will be going. You do not need to take the bus to attend the event.

7th grade science has been exploring thermal energy the last couple weeks with using our new pocket lab thermo sensors. This week students designed and built thermos to try to keep water hot for the longest amount of time.

All K-5 Art students each created a different letter to help form the word "ELLSWORTH"

Ms. Poulos’ first block PE 10 class made their very own playbooks for flag football! Each play highlights different player’s strengths and are then going to be used in game play against other teams!

The middle school Forensics/Speech team did outstanding at their first practice meet on Tuesday, January 16. All five participants placed first in their categories. Aria Mennenga and Esemerelda Johnson scored the blue ribbon for the duo in Play Acting; Bennie Thien received his for News Broadcasting (radio); Luke Lundstrom for Prose, and Kendra Maas-Zielger for Non-Original Oratory.
The team's first invitational meet is at Viking Middle School on Thursday, January 25!


Ellsworth Community School District - Child Development Screening
The Ellsworth Community School District will hold a child development screening (ages 3, 4 & 5 years old) day on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at the Ellsworth Elementary School.
This is a wonderful opportunity for you to learn about your child’s development in speech/language, gross motor, fine motor, and play skills. During the screening your child will participate in a playgroup where social, communication, motor and early learning skills will be observed. In addition, your child’s vision and hearing will be screened.

Our third graders embarked on a whimsical adventure as they bundled up in cozy layers and ventured into our enchanting school forest!
