My name is Ryan Christenson and I am entering my second year as the Alternative Education Teacher at the Ellsworth High School.
Previously, I taught six years as the Middle School Alternative Education Teacher. Outside of my current teaching position, I have also coached, been a paraprofessional and a substitute teacher within the Ellsworth Community School District. As I enter my 12th year in the district I am excited to continue working with the staff, students, and parents in the Ellsworth Community.
I graduated in 2001 from the Drummond Area High School, which is located about thirty miles north of Hayward. While attending high school I played baseball, basketball and ran cross-country. Following high school, I enrolled at the University of Wisconsin-River Falls in pursuit of my teaching degree and to play college baseball. In the spring of 2006, I earned my Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education. Since graduating I have also attended the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and Concordia University Wisconsin. Through my post-secondary education I have earned teaching certifications in alternative education, physical education, adapted physical education and health education as well as earning my Masters in Educational Leadership from St. Mary's University of Minnesota in August 2017.
When I am not teacher or coaching I enjoy playing golf, working out, attending sporting events and spending time with my wife, friends, and family.
Thanks,
Mr. Christenson
