Hello my name is Drew Pechacek. I wanted to write you a quick letter introducing myself. I will be your child’s fifth grade teacher this year. I also wanted to take this time to welcome your child back for another great year at school. I am very excited to meet all of you, and begin our year together. This will be my thirteenth year of teaching, twelth in Ellsworth, and my third year here at the Middle School. Prior to teaching the fifth grade, I spent one year student teaching fourth grade in St. Paul and substitute teaching, I spent two years teaching second and third grade at Lindgren, one year teaching the same grades at Prairie View, and six years teaching third grade at Hillcrest. Also, I have worked with the Panther Kids club program for two years and have coached football here in Ellsworth for the past ten years. A little bit about my background. I first graduated college in 1999 from the University of Wisconsin-River Falls, With a Broad Field Agriculture degree, with an emphasis on Agricultural Economics. I worked for four years in the accounting department at the St. James Hotel as the purchasing and receiving supervisor. During this time, I started working towards my degree in Education and received it in 2004 from Hamline University in St. Paul. I have lived in the Ellsworth area my whole life and my wife teaches in the district at the high school. We have three daughters ages 10, 8, and 5. We currently reside outside of Ellsworth, just a little over four miles from the schools. A few of my hobbies are all types of sports, hunting, fishing, gardening, and spending time with family and friends. |
