About Me!

Hello and welcome to my kindergarten page. My name is Mandy Heitman.  I was born and raised in the town of Lake City, MN.  I grew up on a beef farm with my parents Doug and Lori and my two sisters Melissa and Melanie. Some things that I like to do include walking, reading, watching movies, playing cards games, taking pictures and TEACHING. I attended the University of Wisconsin-River Falls and graduated in 2011 with an Elementary Education major and an Early Childhood minor. My multiple teaching experiences have ranged from Preschool through 5th grade classrooms in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Australia. I am extremely excited to begin another adventure as a Hillcrest Kindergarten Teacher. I am proud to be in the Ellsworth Community School District.

As a teacher, I strive to inspire students to reach for their dreams. I believe I have the ability to reach all children and can adapt my teaching to meet their level of needs. I always try to incorporate all learning styles when planning lessons because all children learn at various rates.  I will educate students in a variety of ways because all children learn and process ideas and concepts differently. Students will come to love learning new things, and also how to explore the world. I will inspire them to be amazing and to dream big because the world is at their fingertips. My dream is to be able to help all children experience learning in a way that suits them.
